WHAT IS LOVE IN MOTION?
Love In Motion is what we all do, to some capacity. As mothers, we love in pregnancy as our body grows and moves towards a new stage in life. As humans, we strive to spread our love to others in our careers and activities, however various they may be. In essence, if you nurture something, you are a mother!
Love In Motion is meant for everyone; anyone looking for answers; answers to the deep well of becoming a new person and all that role entails, especially as an expectant couple. As a Love In Motion Doula, I help you navigate, hold your space during this new path that you are embarking on, & assist you in whatever capacity to make these transitions easy & fun.
WHAT IS A DOULA ANYWAY??
A doula (Greek for "one who serves") is a birth coach/guide for the mom, the partner & anyone else involved in the mother's birthing process. A doula empowers couples to embrace the blessing of a new human for their growing family -- with continuous physical, emotional and informational support.
When labor gets tough, she encourages mom to go deeper, just one more contraction. When the mood is less than ideal, she breaks out the essential oils, clears the room of people or cracks a joke. And when everyone is rejoicing with the arrival of a new baby, she is taking pictures and ensuring mom and baby are healthy and happy.
When the dust settles into postpartum, she is reassuring new parents that all things are normal. And when they are not, she is pointing to resources and providing reassurance. She is a shoulder to cry on while she's finishing up laundry or taking the baby so mom can shower or go for a walk. Very important business, the doula is.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A DOULA?
I decided to become a doula because every mama deserves a doula. I am passionate about birth and babies. My journey began in 2010, when I found myself unexpectedly pregnant. My drive to seek out information and answers into this new realm of birth was my primary concern. I just couldn't get enough! I found out quickly that Siri is not a good birth partner and Google started to become a scary place for answers.
I needed guidance.
I began to notice a pattern of love and fear. I wanted to remove the fear: of pain, of becoming a mother, of a possibility of losing myself while becoming a new single mom. All while inviting love in. How is that possible?!
With time, I found what I was looking for. I realized that the presence of fear in pregnancy and birth are so closely intertwined with our own fears -- even outside of birth. I knew that I had to tackle those fears head on before having my next baby. I got married in 2015 and we quickly became pregnant. I was, AGAIN, shocked by the suddenness of pregnancy and worried that I would bring my previous fears into this birth.
I gained much needed support by asking and informing myself of the options I had; of the obstacles I had to overcome to achieve my best birth possible. When the blessed birth day arrived, I felt prepared, supported, safe, and confident to have this baby MY WAY. No matter the outcome. What BLISS!
These experiences spurred an inspiring journey to become a doula and I have never regretted my decision. It is my life's purpose.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE YOU TO BE MY DOULA?
My deepest desire as a doula is to empower YOU to pursue your motherly journey in your own way. We are all different and I embrace the power and strength we all possess in our own way. My job is to help you harness that power and use it on your baby's birth day! I love how we are all connected on a maternal level and want to help each other during this amazing life transition.
Whether you are a single mom, married, or a surrogate, I want to meet and support you where you are at and what you plan to do for your delivery: a planned/unplanned cesarean, unmedicated, epidural, or wait and see! We don't know what will happen when baby day arrives, but YOU are valued in your pregnancy and birth and YOU deserve all the support and care you need during that time. My goal is to empower and support you, let you unleash your inner goddess on your child's BIRTH day!
DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING SPECIAL THAT OTHER DOULAS DO NOT?
YES!!! Not only do I provide exemplary services but I extend my skills to coach you through obstacles that may be hindering you from getting what you want in your birth and postpartum experience. This is what Prenatal and Postpartum Coaching is. Whatever you choose; whatever comes up for you -- from fears and tears to birth positions, I am here for you one step at a time.
HOW MUCH DOES A DOULA COST?
The average experienced birth doula in the Denver Metro Area costs $1500-2500. You could find a lower-priced doula, but consider the experience and quality you are paying for. What is your peace of mind worth to you?
