WHAT ARE THE BENEFTS?
Many women have reported:
WHAT HORMONES ARE IN A PLACENTA?
The placenta contains a multitude of healing properties and hormones, such as:
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
We use the standard process inspired by the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which includes steaming, drying, grinding and hand encapsulating the placenta. During this process we adhere to the utmost standards of cleanliness, using careful preparation techniques for consumption. Although we believe the placenta is made perfect in and of itself, we do lightly steam it over lemons and ginger. However, we do not add any additional herbs or spices to your placenta during the process.
HOW MANY PILLS DO I GET?
We use the highest grade of Gelatin OR Vegetarian Capsules that have no preservatives or animal products and come in an easy to swallow size. You can start taking the pills right away and they should last you around three to four weeks. The placenta can make anywhere from 60-175 pills depending on the size of the placenta.
HOW MANY DO I TAKE?
We recommend 3-2-1....3 at breakfast, 2 at lunch and 1 at dinner. But it truly is up to you and how you are feeling. If you are feeling extra down one day, you can definitely take more as needed. However, we don't recommend taking them right before bed as they are known to give you increased energy.
WHAT IS A TINCTURE?
Along with the pills, we offer a tincture for an extra $30. Our tinctures are made with pure alcohol and a small portion of your ground placenta powder. The tinctures take about five to six weeks to be at their full potential and can be used the same as the pills. Two to three drops (NOT A DROPPERFUL) are equivalent to one pill.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Please tell your healthcare provider in advance that you wish to keep your placenta. Most hospitals will be aware of your rights to keep your placenta and most will provide a "Release of Placenta and Waiver Liability" form for you to sign once you are at the hospital. It is important to keep the placenta on ice until it is processed with your encapsulator. The hospital will provide a small tupperware or ziplock freezer bag. If a health issue occurs, the placenta will be sent to pathology. Sometimes encapsulation is no longer a viable option if sent to pathology because of storage procedures.
DO I HAVE TO TOUCH OR SEE MY PLACENTA?
Our business is in place to take the "gross" factor out of the equation for you when it comes to consuming your placenta. We send a cooler package before the birth, if you schedule ahead of time, that includes all the necessary items for a nurse, midwife, doula or doctor to package the placenta without you ever having to deal with it.
I AM GROUP B STREP POSITIVE (GBS+), CAN I STILL ENCAPSULATE?
Absolutely! You can choose encapsulation as long as it's not an infection and present only as colonization. It is recommended that we do only Traditional Method preparation with GSB+ to further minimize any potential risks to you and your baby.
Encapsulation can still happen when....Many scenarios still allow for you to choose encapsulation!
WHAT PREVENTS ENCAPSULATION FROM BEING A VIABLE OPTION?
There are only a few scenarios when you would want to avoid encapsulation.
WHAT'S IN MY CAPSULES?
What you birth is what you get, plus some organic lemon and ginger in the water during the steaming process as an option. The only thing in your capsules is your placenta.
HOW DO YOU ENCAPSULATE?
To encapsulate, we take your placenta, rinse it, steam it, slice it in very small pieces, then place into a dehydrator. Once it's fully dehydrated, we take it out, grind it into powder, and put it into capsules.
HOW DO YOU ENSURE MY SAFETY WHILE HANDLING MY PLACENTA?
We have a dedicated space specifically for placenta processing. Our equipment is only ever used for placenta processing as well. We also have strict cleaning and sanitation protocol in place to ensure no cross contamination, aligned with standard Food & Safety regulations. We use antibacterial soaps to wash equipment, sani-cloths to wipe the workspace down, and bleach to sanitize everything.
HOW SHOULD MY CAPSULES AND TINCTURES BE STORED?
Capsules should be placed in a dry, cool, dark environment to preserve longevity. Moisture is the enemy!
Tinctures should also be stored in a cool, dry, dark environment. Capsules are ideal to keep on a refrigerator door.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
We require a $100 non-refundable deposit at the time of contract signing, and tentative scheduling. The remaining balance needs to be paid off at the time of placenta pick-up. We accept Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal.
SOME COMPANIES HAVE LOWER RATES, SO WHY CHOOSE US?
We take our job very seriously. We have put a lot of time and effort into making our services exceptional. Our credentials include: obtaining a certification from Placenta Training Company to be fully knowledgeable in placenta handling and care, as well as taking additional courses to keep updated on food handling and safety, and blood-borne pathogens to provide outstanding service to our clients. Working with human blood is nothing to take lightly so proper training is extremely important. Besides certifications and training, we also offer a 48 hour turn-around. We want our clients to start enjoying postpartum benefits as soon as possible! You'll never regret choosing exceptional service with us.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE MY CAPSULES WITHIN A CERTAIN TIMEFRAME OR DO THEY EXPIRE?
It depends. Many factors contribute to the longevity of your placenta pills. Storing them in a cool, dry, dark place will keep capsules good for about 6 months without refrigeration. Once that 6 months has passed, it is recommended to store in the freezer. Once they are in the freezer, pills can last months to years but remember, moisture is the enemy of your pills.
CONSUMING MY PLACENTA SEEMS UNPLEASANT. HOW DO I AVOID THE "YUCK" FACTOR?
Easy, encapsulate your placenta! Booking with us means you'll never have to see it, touch, or taste it. We take all the "yuck" factor out of placenta encapsulation for our clients. Placenta pills are as easy as taking a vitamin and we also have flavored/colored capsules to add extra "protection" against any strange flavors.

Because of our strict cleaning and sanitation protocols, we minimalize high risk health issues and we also have labels on all our products with very clear instructions, one being to listen to your body. Some may be more sensitive to hormones.
